What to know before you begin
Your wedding rings will be with you every day. That’s why comfort, durability and a design that truly feels like “you” matter so much.
There’s no need to rush, but starting early gives you more time to explore options, especially if you’d like your rings customised. The months leading into summer (and the holiday season) are especially busy in our workshop, so planning ahead means more freedom and less stress.
Some couples choose matching rings. Others prefer styles that reflect each person individually. There’s no right or wrong - just what feels right for your relationship. And whatever you choose, we’re here to make sure it’s meaningful, personal, and beautifully made
4 key things to consider when selecting your wedding bands
1. Which metal is right for you?
The metal you choose sets the tone for your wedding ring; not just in colour, but in how it feels and wears over time.
From the rich warmth of yellow gold, to the modern elegance of white gold or platinum, to the soft blush tones of rose gold, each metal offers its own character. Platinum is naturally white, extremely durable, and hypoallergenic which is ideal for everyday wear. Another option is Continuum™ Silver which offers a bright, elegant finish and a lighter feel.
You might want your ring to match your engagement ring, or you might choose something entirely different that reflects your personal style. Some couples even mix metals for a two-tone look that’s unique to them.
We’ll help you explore every option so you can choose a metal that suits your lifestyle.
2. Fit for everyday comfort
Your wedding ring should feel just as good as it looks. After all, you’ll be wearing it every day. Slim bands tend to feel lighter and more subtle, while wider bands can make a stronger statement. The shape of the ring can also affect how it sits on your finger; whether flat, domed, or softly contoured
When choosing your band, think about your lifestyle, profession, and how the ring needs to feel during day-to-day wear. Whether you work with your hands, prefer a barely-there feel, or want something bold and substantial, we’ll help you find a width and profile that fits your life, beautifully.
3. Diamond or gemstones
Some couples love the understated elegance of a plain band. Others are drawn to the romance of sparkle whether that’s a single diamond, a row of delicate inlay, or a one-of-a-kind coloured gemstone. We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds, giving you the freedom to choose what aligns with your values, style, and budget. Whether you prefer timeless white sparkle or something with a pop of colour, we’ll help you find the stone that feels just right for you. It's not just about the sparkle; it's about the story they tell.
4. Matching vs unique
Some couples love the symbolism of matching rings - two bands that reflect their unity. Others choose designs as unique as each person in the relationship. There’s no right or wrong. What matters is that your rings feel like you. Whether that’s a shared design, complementary styles, or something entirely different.
Customisation options
- Go fully bespoke. If you have a vision in your heart, we’ll work closely with you to bring it to life. From hand-drawn sketches through CAD renderings, every detail is tailored to your taste and story including width, profile and gemstones.
- Tweak one of our signature styles. Choose a style from our core collection and make it yours whether you’d like to change the metal, adjust the finish (polished, brushed, hammered), alter the stone setting, or add engraving. These small details give your ring a personal touch without starting completely from scratch.
- Have a piece of jewellery with sentimental value? Whether it’s a family heirloom, a gifted ring, or gold tucked away in a drawer, we’ll explore ways to thoughtfully incorporate elements from your existing pieces into your new wedding bands where possible. It’s a beautiful way to honour your past while creating something new for your future.
Throughout each path, we guide you in design, material choices, timeline, and budget. Want to explore stone options like natural diamonds or lab-grown diamonds? We’re here with you, every step of the way.

Timeframes & budget tips
- Custom‑made wedding rings generally take 6 weeks once design and metals are confirmed. If you want special gemstones or complicated detail, allow more time.
- Create your ring without stretching your budget. Lab‑grown stones, simpler settings, narrower bands, or using existing metal are great ways to save.
- Planning ahead matters. The months leading up to Christmas are our busiest time of year, and our workshop closes over the New Year period so our team can rest and recharge. If your wedding is early in the new year, we recommend starting the process in October to avoid delays and ensure we have time to give your rings the care and attention they deserve.
Caring for your rings & finding the perfect match
Your wedding ring is made to last a lifetime, but a little care helps it stay looking its best. Gentle cleaning every so often will help keep it shining, especially if you wear it daily.
When it comes to pairing your wedding band with an engagement ring, choosing a metal and style that complements your existing ring can create a beautifully cohesive look. Whether you want them to match perfectly or sit together with contrast, we’ll help you find the right balance.
