Our story

Founded in 1993 by husband-and-wife team Steve and Jan Crout, the business was built on traditional craftsmanship, honesty, and personal service.

Today, the second generation is proudly continuing the legacy. With Jan now enjoying retirement, Steve still works at the bench alongside their son Paul, a skilled jeweller, and Michael, who is learning the craft as an apprentice.

One day, Steve hopes to semi-retire, but for now, he’s loving every moment of working alongside his sons, sharing decades of experience and helping customers bring their special pieces to life.

With over 30 years of hands-on expertise and a genuine passion for what we do, Jubilee Jewellers continues to create custom, handcrafted jewellery that celebrates love, life, and family... just as we always have.

Meet the team

Paul, Master Jeweller

Meet Paul, a talented jeweller with over 10 years of experience in the industry. Known for his unique artistic designs, Paul has become a go-to for customers looking for one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful.

When he's not busy creating stunning pieces of jewellery, Paul loves to play the bass guitar. He's been playing since he was a teenager and finds that music is a great way to unwind and express himself creatively. Whether he's playing classic rock or composing his own songs, Paul loves the way music can bring people together and touch their hearts.

Michael, Sales Director & Jewellery Apprentice

Meet Michael, a seasoned Sales Manager with over 15 years of experience in the Jewellery industry across Australia and New Zealand. Like many kiwi's living overseas during the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael made the decision to return home to Wellington and since then he has been instrumental in driving the growth of Jubilee Jewellers since Jan's retirement in 2021.

Alongside managing the business, he’s currently training as a manufacturing jeweller through an official apprenticeship.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys cheering on the Hurricanes, playing the harmonica, and renovating his classic Kiwi home with his lovely wife, Jules.

Steve, Master Jeweller

Meet Steve, the ultimate gem of the jewellery industry! With over 40 years of experience, he is a qualified gemmologist and a Master Jeweller who can turn any piece of rock into pure magic.

When he's not busy crafting stunning jewellery pieces, Steve loves to cheer for the All Blacks, and boy, does he know how to celebrate their wins!

But that's not all - he's also got a green thumb and can be found tinkering in his garden on his days off.

Harvey, Gem Guard

Harvey takes his role as Gem Guard seriously. He's usually keeping a watchful eye on the workshop from his favourite spot (aka his bed).

While he’s not much of a play dog, Harvey will happily come say a gentle hello to visitors, especially if you’ve brought your own pup along.

Pop in and meet Harvey next time you’re in town. Just don’t be surprised if he greets you... then promptly returns to napping on the job.

When Jules isn't busy working on marketing campaigns, she enjoys exploring the beautiful New Zealand countryside with her husband Michael and their dog, Harvey.
